Kimberly Johnson Senior Communications Officer Contact Kimberly Kim joined the Irvine Foundation as a Senior Communications Officer in October 2018. She has more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, nonprofit advocacy, and marketing. Before joining the Foundation, Kim was the Communications and Marketing Manager at Talix, a San Francisco-based healthcare startup that develops software to improve patient care and reduce costs. Prior to Talix, Kim was a Director on the Learning Team at Spitfire, a public interest communications firm. There she counseled a wide variety of nonprofit clients, with a focus on developing, managing, and leading trainings across the U.S. and internationally to build the strategic communications capacity of nonprofit and foundation staff. Before Spitfire, Kim was a Communications Specialist at Service Employees International Union – United Healthcare Workers in Oakland, California. At SEIU-UHW, Kim managed communications and public relations campaigns to support the union’s work to improve patient care, increase workplace safety, and ensure all Californian’s have access to high-quality, affordable healthcare. Kim is a San Francisco native and graduated from The University of Arizona with a B.A. in communications.
