Grantseekers

Note: We are not accepting unsolicited inquiries for our initiatives or current grantmaking.

The James Irvine Foundation’s focus, since 2016, is a California where all low-income workers have the power to advance economically. Our grantmaking is structured into initiatives, as well as other projects, that support our focus.

In December 2017, we launched our first two initiatives under this focus (Better Careers and Fair Work). We added our third initiative (Priority Communities) in April 2020 and our fourth (Just Prosperity) in March 2022. We continuously learn from the field as we explore new areas of grantmaking aligned with our focus.

Changing our overarching goals and grantmaking structure has changed the number of organizations eligible for future grants, though we anticipate continued partnerships with other organizations as a regular part of our work. We welcome you to learn more about our grantmaking and structure.
