Following is the timeline for the 2014 James Irvine Foundation Leadership Awards:

January 8, 2013

Nomination period opens for the 2014 James Irvine Foundation Leadership Awards.

April 10, 2013

Nominations are due online or by mail to the Foundation's San Francisco office.

April – May 2013

After an initial screening, a set of nominators is invited to submit additional information about their nominees. All supplemental materials must be received by May 31, 2013.

End of July 2013

The Selection Committee meets to discuss the nomination pool and selects about a dozen finalists. Finalists are notified.

August – September 2013

Irvine program staff and an expert in each finalist's field of work meet with finalists individually to further understand each person's work and its impact on California.

Early November 2013

The Selection Committee meets to review reports of the site visits and to select four to six award recipients. Recipients and other finalists are notified.

February 20, 2014

Award recipients are publicly announced.
