Following is the timeline for the 2013 James Irvine Foundation Leadership Awards:

February 13, 2012

Nomination period opens for the 2013 James Irvine Foundation Leadership Awards.

April 4, 2012

Nominations are due online or by mail to the Foundation's San Francisco office.

April – May 2012

After an initial screening, a set of nominators is invited to submit additional information about their nominees. All supplemental materials must be received by May 31, 2012.

July 26, 2012

The Selection Committee meets to discuss the nomination pool and selects about a dozen finalists. Finalists are notified.

August – September 2012

Irvine program staff and an expert in each finalist's field of work meet with finalists individually to further understand each person's work and its impact on California.

November 2, 2012

The Selection Committee meets to review reports of the site visits and to select four to six award recipients. Recipients and other finalists are notified.

February 4, 2013

Award recipients are publicly announced.
