was appointed Communications Project Manager in 2013, having previously served the Foundation as Communications Associate since 2007. Prior to joining the Foundation, Thuy was Senior Membership Manager of the Independent Press Association, where she was responsible for organizing quarterly events and the annual national conference, and oversaw membership communications. Before that, she was an Advertising Account Assistant for The Chronicle of Higher Education and The Chronicle of Philanthropy, supporting recruitment advertising and marketing efforts. She served as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Washington, D.C., doing community outreach and teaching middle school students about substance abuse prevention and HIV and AIDS awareness. Thuy is currently the co-chair of the local Bay Area chapter of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) and serves on the board of the Vietnamese Youth Development Center in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco. Thuy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational communication with a concentration in public relations and advertising from the University of Portland.
